All patients for canine rehabilitation must be referred by a veterinarian who approves the plan of care, maintains responsibility for the client's care throughout the rehab process and assumes ongoing responsibility of client care upon completion of the rehab program. The referring veterinarian will receive a copy of the initial evaluation and plan of care, progress notes as well as a discharge summary upon completion of the rehab program.

Part of the mission of W.A.G. is to serve pets who do not necessarily have diagnosed injuries but rather are in need of conditioning for weight loss or general health. Services include:
•Hydrotherapy
•Acupuncture
•Electrical stimulation
•Range of motion
•Therapeutic exercise
•Individualized home exercise programs
•Owner education
Pets that benefit from our Wellness Program include:
•Pets that need more exercise or are overweight
•Active breeds (retrievers, terriers, spaniels, etc.)
•Dog Athletes (fly ball, field trial, agility)
•Conditioning for hunting & show dogs
•Pets recovering from injuries or surgery past initial rehabilitation
•Osteoarthritis dogs
We have 2 main components of our Wellness Program: aquatic wellness and canine conditioning.
Aquatic conditioning: Specifically developed for dogs that need more strenuous exercise or are overweight. We offer 30 minute treadmill/swim sessions in our underwater treadmill with water jets. Running in the treadmill or swimming is a great cardiovascular exercise and offers a low impact way to increase strength and endurance. All breeds of dogs can benefit and most enjoy the activity.
Canine conditioning: W.A.G. offers access to our exercise area for conditioning sessions. These sessions are not under the supervision of Dr. Fuoco and are at the Owner’s discretion and convenience. They are envisioned to be an extension of the rehabilitation process. It is a time for owners to help their pet work on specific exercises, but can be treated as an open gym. This allows owners access to an indoor exercise area to have fun with their pets.
The conditioning session could include any of the following or more: weaving through poles to help promote side bending and strengthen abductor muscles, cavaletti rails to encourage greater active range of motion, physio-ball, playing fetch or using a piece of our agility equipment.
Wellness sessions are for all dogs with no current medical or surgical conditions. We ask that all dogs are current on rabies, distemper and bordatella vaccines and have had a negative fecal test in the last year.
